Introduction:
Welcome fellow Executioners to the Killer is Dead guide! You are Mondo Zappa, a newly hired assassin who works for a pair named Bryan and Vivienne who are contracted out by the government to kill criminals. The story only gets weirder from their and i am not sure how to explain it. Expect a good 20-30 hours before you complete this, as it involves a ton of grinding for money, AAA every mission, and multiple playthroughs on multiple difficulties.
Abbreviated Walkthrough:
I will break this up into four parts:
Initially you want to just play the game normally, not worrying about rank and just enjoying the story. It is best to also play the sub missions that will pop up as you progress through the story. It is recommended that you play on Normal first. Difficulty achievements do not stack, so for the full 1000 , three full playthroughs are necessary. Adding in a fourth "Easy" playthrough will just add unneeded time to your completion. The game is fairly easy even on Normal so it should not be difficult. While playing the story, it would be best to go visit the girls when they appear as they give valuable upgrades. Refer to the 'Grinding money and getting hunnies' section of the roadmap for more information.
2. Grinding money and getting hunniesThis is probably the most awkward part of the game as it involves staring at ladies in their underwear with them not noticing you are in order for you to sleep with them. As you stare you will slowly build up a meter on the left (and if you get caught, the meter on the right will go down, and if it empties you will fail the mission and lose any gifts you have given). Once the meter on the left hits 1000, you will be prompted to give her a gift. Make sure its something she likes, which can be checked by looking at the picture that pops up in gigalo mode. The picture will only pop up after you have received a pair of gigalo glasses, which is a gift from Scarlett. After you fill the heart meter on the bottom, you will then sleep with her.
It will benefit you immensely to do this early on in the game as wooing each girl will unlock upgrades for your weapons in the form of new attachments like a drill for your mechanical arm. When you start to receive Moon Crystals from the beauties, you know that you have exhausted all of the upgrades she gives and can ignore doing their "mission" until you are ready to grind giving and receiving gifts from them.
Gifts will cost money, and initially you will be able to unlock " Passionate girl " and " Geisha Girl " for Natalia and Koharu respectively. After you have completed the first five main missions, and the sub missions that pop up, you will have more then enough money from the mission rewards to get enough gifts. To unlock " Gift Collector " and " Happiest man on earth " you will need a little more cash. It's best to go for " Cash enough for love " before you go for these. Use the strategy in the achievement description for the best ways to earn money quickly.
While Scarlett is another woman you need to sleep with for " Lucky Girl ", she is a bit more involved then simply buying gifts. You need to complete the challenge missions (preferably getting AAA rank on them) and rack up 1000 points and another "challenge" will pop up and it will let you sleep with her, again you need to do this three times for the achievement to unlock.
Additionally there are costumes for some of the women in the game (including this in this part of the roadmap solely because it involves women). Getting a AAA rank on the following missions will unlock these costumes.
- A Damsel in Distress
- Time Cursed
- Weight limit
- Gift of the Moon
They are fairly pricey so by the time you have " Cash enough for love " you will be set in buying each one.
3. Combat challengesThese are unlocked by finding Scarlett in each of the main missions. User Quantum Binman has created this GUIDE for her locations. Finding all of her will unlock " Scarlett-Approved Stalker " and the other achievements for finding her 6 and 12 times respectively. Clearing them (not AAAing them, just clearing them) will unlock " Gigalo Mastership " and for clearing 6 and 12 missions respectively. It is best to do these after you have unlocked all of them by finding every Scarlett, and after you have beaten the game and have gotten most if not all of the upgrades and either the Ulti-Mondo or the Dark Booster costume.
For help in getting a AAA rank in each mission, user Spain Hard Two Gamers has put together this POST of his YouTube videos for each challenge mission. You will need to get a AAA rank on each of them to ultimately get " The Mass Murderer is Dead ."
4. Everything ElseWhile the previous three sections covers most of the game this is for everything that does not fit.
After playing on Normal and grinding enough money to get all of the gifts you need, grind some more (assuming you need to) and purchase either the Ulti-Mondo or the Dark Booster costumes (you will need to purchase Ulti-mondo for the " Passport to Infinity " achievement so it might be best to buy this first). I mention these a lot because they are that important. The Ulti-Mondo costume doubles the damage of your Katana and the Dark Booster costume gives you unlimited blood (which translates to unlimited use of your various weapons of your mechanic arm). Using either will make your game so much easier on harder difficulties, as well as not affecting your rank so it makes getting AAA infinitely easier.
After you have picked your costume, it's time to jump into Hard and Very Hard difficulties. Difficulties do not stack so another two full playthroughs are required. At some point during these two, you will fully upgrade your health and blood meters unlocking " Ultimate Physical Beauty " and " Sexy Man Whose Blood is Dripping " respectively. Also, depending on how many executions you made in your Normal playthrough, " Left hand man " and " Right hand man " will unlock as you earn and spend moon crystals to upgrade your weapons and purchase skills.
A few miscellaneous achievements are present, like getting 100 head shots for " Bryan-Approved Sniper ", killing an enemy still in the air for " Feeling so High ", performing dodge burst 100 times for " Float like a Gadfly " and killing an enemy will burst rush for " Suck like a Leech ".
Others include killing an enemy with another enemy's attack for " Have you got Clean Hands? " and getting revived by your partner Mika 20 times for " Reliable Friends ". See each of the achievement descriptions for more details.
Getting AAA rank on each mission is also a huge part. I have no advice for this except to look up YouTube videos for the specific mission you are having trouble with. Things like number of deaths, how fast you complete a mission and completing the bonus objectives all affect your overall rank. When you are playing on Normal, you will most likely get a decent amount of AAA ranks. At the end of both your Hard and Very Hard playthroughs, you may end up with a few more. Drop down to easy and mop up and missions you don't have a AAA rank in. You will need to AAA rank the challenge and sub missions. Again I will reiterate, use either Ulti-Mondo or Dark Booster they will make your life much easier.
Mop-Up:
At the end of it all, the last achievements you may need will be related to AAAing every mission. Turn down the difficulty to Easy, equip Ulti-Mondo or Dark Booster, boot up a YouTube video for the level and go to town.
Conclusion:
This is a fun, yet fairly short (story wise) game. If you have a free weekend and want something a little different and a little far out, I highly recommend this game. It offers a challenge to those who seek a full completion and it offers a good chunk of achievements for those who don't.
